Yet again Can-I-Poet came back on the scene with a vengeance with words! This year the students at Wake had the chance to meet the incredible Tony Ketih, Crystal Leigh, and Oveous Maximus! Dope MCs and spoken word artists that have destroyed the cookie cutter image of whack MCs in my generation. Embracing the Woman Within

Hey loves! I just wanted to share some photos from a mock photo shoot Sherea DelSol did for me. We collaborated on the styling of the shoot. We both wanted to embrace the beauty that is placed under the radar at times, plus size beauty! In this day and age there are many plus size fashion bloggers, clothing lines, and stores that accommodate the fashion we love! During this shoot I thought of Gabby from Young Fat & Fabulous during this shoot. She has been an inspiration of mine since finding her blog on the former Faith21 site. During this journey I have found the woman who has been hiding inside for the longest. These photos represent beauty, confidence, and determination to embrace all curves, shapes, and sizes. Grandma Blazer Reinvented!

Ok loves I must admit I am a sucker for bright blazers if you couldn't tell by now. They are more than just an addiction, but an absolute necessity! Since posting this picture with me and my amazing fashionista friend SheRea Delsol, I have gotten a lot of buzz about the floral print of this blazer, both good and bad! I will advise all my followers to do what makes you happy! Whatever makes you shine and define your personal style, throw on that bright floral blazer and watch your friends turn heads, who cares if its bad or good! Stay dedicated to who you are loves! That was just a slight Public Service Announcement :)

Trend Spotted!

Chomy A. from one of my favorite sights for clothing inspirations, LookBook.NU, has got me craving a pair of menswear shorts this season! With spring right around the corner I have to dash to the local Good Will around town and snag a couple and pair them with tights and combat boots! Though my classification has changed from freshman to sophomore, my budget is still slim to none (so Good Will is always my best bet!!). I am addicted to Chomy's use of color and clothing textures, plus her hair is absolutely stunning, has inspired me to pair pieces of would have never thought about pairing together!
