Cole World!

Just for Kicks Ladies!

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet J.Cole after his amazing performance last night in Winston-Salem, NC. I am a huge Cole World fan, and meeting him solidified my belief that he is a humble man making moves to improve the life he was born in to! Please purchase his new album, Sideline Story!

New Face to CRB

Hello Lovelies,

Classic.Raw.Beauty is going through a radical change :)
Always for the better. I am adding more content, besides
my personal style, which has gotten to be extreme tiring
and just down right boring for me. New ladies
will be added to the mix on various topics from music to
fashion intern diaries! This is an amazing time for me and
the possible new faces of CRB!
I hope you all will be as excited as I am :)

Love You All,

Billie!

What's A Fit Without the Best Asset?

Hello Lovelies!

I know this is a fashion blog, but what's an outfit without your best accessory? Yes, your hair! For the past two months I have been researching the best methods to effectively condition and moisturize my naturally curly hair. Who knew it could be inside a banana peel and a beehive! Banana and honey, that's right ladies! The delicious healthy food we intake can be used in your hair, especially if your running low on your favorite (expensive) conditioner. Homemade conditioner are the great elixirs that can cure dry and moisture deprived hair (no matter the hair type). Take a peek into the life of curly heads like me:

Ingredients for Conditioner:

Over Ripen Banana
Grapeseed Oil
Conditioner (I used Herbal Essences: Totally Twisted)
Honey
H20
Shower Cap

Slice the over ripen, extremely soft, banana in half and gut the middle of the fruit. The
middle has seeds and trust me you do not want this sticking to your hair.

When Sliced, mash the soft banana in a cup or bowl. Add a small amount of conditioner
add with about a half cup of oil Grapeseed or Olive Oil. Don't forget a tablespoon of honey for
added moisture and shine to your hair.
To the mixture add some water (just a tad: if too thick add a good amount and stir)

This will get messy, put on an old tshirt and section your hair and add the mixture to you hair.
Two strand twist or clip your hair and put on a shower cap and chill for about 1-2 hours (in my case 3 while in the library)
Hop into the Shower and rinse :)

Don't forget to moisturize with conditioner and seal with oil or Shea Butter.

CRB DIY: Button Down Cut Out

Hello Lovelies!

So its been a while since I've posted a DIY project. This Button Down Cut Out project is perfect for those divas looking to recreate their wardrobe without breaking the bank. As you all may know, I am not afraid to cut, trim, and sew my clothes into something completely different. I don't wanna talk your ears off :)
Here is the DIY, let me know what other projects you would like to see posted.

                                                     Materials You Will Need
                                                         1. Iron
                                                         2. Sewing Machine
                                                         3. Pins
                                                         4. An Old Button Down
                                                         5.Any piece of frilly fabric

 Now Let the Transformation Begin....

Before You Begin, Iron the Piece of Fabric that
you will attach to the opening of your button down. It
will help the fabric to lay flat while sewing it down.

 (This process is not needed)
Since I work in a costume shop, I have access to a Surgerer
Machine. In which raw edge fabrics can be sewed and cut
to prevent fabric destruction.
 (After Surge)

Use your pins to hold the fabric in tact.
Make sure to attach fabric under the shirt, rather than on top.
 (Finished Product)

Sew fabric on to button down, take out your pins as you go.

Final Step, Sew Raw Edges of the Button Down,
For a clean, classic look.

The cute final project, I will be making more alteration for a better fit.

What do you think ladies?

OOTD: Textured Coral

Another day inching closer to fall! Even though the sun will be hiding out for a while, I refuse to pack away my summer clothing. I am infamous for paring any styled skirt with tights, leg warmers, and boots! I am a boot addict so anything that can be paired with my favorite shoe staple I am so down! As you lovely ladies know, when I love a clothing staple I will wear it to death (usually giving people the impression I have a lot of clothing, false)! But this once Coral Wrap Dress from then Faith21, now Forever21 Plus, has become one of my favorite versatile clothing staples. Since its SUPER short as a dress, i decided to wear it as an awesome skirt.

Summer 2011 (you will be missed)

Fall 20ll (hello combats)
Ladies you will see these lovely boots a lot during the winter months.

 Fit Rundown:

Leather Jacket: Wilson Leather Online
Scarf: Actually a Forever21 maxi dress
Boots: Forever21

A combination of mixed prints and color blocking! Score! Two lovely trends in one.

OOTD: Rosie the Riveter

Hello Lovelies!

I am so glad to report that my entire outfit was thrifted yesterday! I am so happy! Thrifting has really become a normal shopping process for me! There are so many wonderful things that can be found in a small consignment shop. School will never get me down, you all keep me energized and strong!

I felt so independent and absolutely strong when I put on this outfit for the first time!
I am the reincarnate of Rosie the Riveter, dope right?

By the Way, thank you to my gorgeous160 followers. I would love to add 40 more divas to CRB's reading list. I would love for you ladies to send me links to new and up coming (or old) blogs you all love.

OOTD: Smashed Bohemian Dream

Hello Lovelies!

Another Day, another assignment, another endless night of hard work! I come on CRB to check up and update you ladies! I miss the summer and the leisure time so much, but all is well!! Being at school can be a bummer, but when I'm near the fine arts building I just get super inspired! I had my lovely friend and fellow blogger, She'Rea of My Thrifted Closet, snap a few inspiring pictures for me.

If you lovely ladies remembered my past post, My First Thrift Haul, I purchased this top from Good Will! It had sleeves, but it made me look frumpy and downright OLD! So this morning I took my scissors and began to cut at the seam line and created a wonderful updated chic look. Simple alterations can take a piece of clothing a LONG way!

So ladies, what do you think?
Accessories:
Tribal Gold Necklace: Forever21
Gold Cuff: She'Rea Thrifted
Gold Bangles: Forever21

Fit Rundown:
Thrifted Shirt: Good Will
Black Dress (turned maxi): Forever21
Belt: Old Navy

Sandals: Walmart

OOTD: I Reminisce

Hello Lovelies!

Its another gorgeous morning here in North Carolina! The weather is beginning to cool down, but the sun is still shining! As the weather decides if it wants to be hot or cool, I decided to throw on a wonderful sundress that I've had for years, but I had to add some fashion flair to it! I hate this dress alone, but paired with my thrifted denim shirt and navy suede wedges, the dress popped!

What are you ladies wearing during the weather transition to summer to fall?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

 Fit Rundown:

Denim Top- Good Will
Floral Dress- Old Navy
Wedges- DSW Shoes

OOTD: Simple and Chic

Hello Lovelies!

Back to the grind of long nights in Starbucks and running on only three hours of sleep! Despite the anxiety of campus life, I had to share this outfit I wore during my university's Activities Fair! It was my debut as a new writer for Her Campus, an amazing lifestyle blog for college women. This free flowing fit was a wonderful fit for such a hot day.

What do you lovely ladies think? I would love to hear from you all!
