Style Recap of 2013

As 2013 exits, Classic.Raw.Beauty. will enter 2014 in mommy/style blogger fashion! Before we welcome 2014 with open arms, I thought it would be appropriate to flash back to my favorite looks of the year!

In the beginning of my 2013 style year, I was a senior in college and was obsessed with pairing thrifted pieces with contemporary pieces in my wardrobe. Being that this would be my last year as an undergrad, I wanted to amp up my style in a sophisticated, eclectic way! I think I accomplished that with pairing skirts with knee high socks and my favorite H&M booties and playing with high slits and ripped tights!

Near the end of my senior year I found out that I was 5 weeks pregnant so my style slowly began to change as my body morphed. My favorite fitted skirts, dresses and high waist pants had to be packed away. I faithfully wore cotton maxi skirts the whole summer to accommodate my growing baby bump! As my pregnancy progressed, my style took at a 180 and I wore things out of comfort instead of being cute or fashionable.

When I finally had my little munchkin on November 7th, 2013, 11 days later I bounced back and put my precious heeled booties back on! Though I am not where I want to be as a style blogger just yet, I am definitely enjoying being a mother first and foremost. But being that we are two days away from 2014, I am more than ready to accomplish my goals a blogger and mommy this year!

What are your 2014 aspirations?

My Maternity Fashion Essentials

Boy, has it been a short summer!

With me starting a new job and taking on the role as a pregnant makeup artist, the summer seemed to fly by me. I have been a terrible fashion blogger throughout this whole pregnancy, but this pregnancy has been a huge adjustment for me since graduating college. There have been tough times and beautiful times since walking across the stage,  but I am extremely thankful to have a blog space where I can release some creative tension.

Despite my lack of outfit posts, I have been able to track down my style in camera photos each week or every other week when I was up to it. Nevertheless, as my beautiful baby grew so did my bump and I needed clothing that was still stylish and functional for my new blossoming figure. Since all my funds have been dedicated to little man, I shopped my own closet for most of my items or I went to H&M and invested in great transitional pieces that I could wear post-pregnancy. And, if you can tell, I had one favorite piece that came up a lot on my Instagram (classicraw):

Essential Pieces: Thrifted Goodwill Blouse & Cotton Blend Maxi Skirt

H&M Leggings

The essential black tank and my thrifted fedora!

What were your essential maternity/summer pieces this summer?
